Satpol PP Closely Monitors Health Protocols in Tanah Abang Market

The Jakarta Satpol PP together with the Central Jakarta administration held health protocols monitoring in Tanah Abang area in the last week of Ramadan, on Sunday (5/9).

They are not as spectators, see or let traders sell on the sidewalk, but remind them not to sell on sidewalks or pedestrians

It involved 300 personnel of Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, army, police, PPSU, as well as related units.

Jakarta Satpol PP Head Arifin stated those personnel should run their duty in accordance with the applicable rules. It was because on the last Sunday before Eid, Tanah Abang Market was crowded with shoppers.

"I instruct them to appeal and disperse the crowd in Tanah Abang area to prevent the spread of COVID-19, he expressed.

They were also instructed to warn traders from opening stalls on the sidewalk.

"They are not as spectators, see or let traders sell on the sidewalk, but remind them not to sell on sidewalks or pedestrians," he stressed.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma uttered that the monitoring also involved the Early Awareness Society Forum (FKDM) in active monitoring of health protocols in Tanah Abang Market area.

"This is a synergy and collaboration involving FKDM in handling or prevention and enforcement of the COVID-19 health program in Tanah Abang Market," he added.

He also hoped that traders and shoppers to remain comply with health protocols.

"Traders shouldn't trade on sidewalks and visitors are better off just gathering with their families at home," he closed.
